Coriander is one of the most essential herb all around the world.  It is the fastest growing herd. It is mostly used to flavour the international dishes. It is also used as a spice. Its leaves and seeds both are equally essential. Is is both used as green and dried.

Coriander seeds are sourced from Morocco and Russia, angelica root (Archangelica officinalis) from Germany, and orange and lemon peels from Mediterranean countries.

Coriander seeds are like tiny tan hued beads with ridges. They are used whole in pickling recipes or crushed or ground and used in many recipes including curries, rice dishes and soups. Coriander's flavor leans more toward the warm spice category like cinnamon with nutty nuances.

As many as one in five people says that coriander has a soapy taste. This is likely to be due to a super-sensitivity to chemicals called aldehydes, which are present in coriander and are also used to perfume soaps and detergents.

Coriander isn’t an unusual spice or herb especially in India. We use coriander leaves in almost all our dishes to garnish them and also we incorporate the spice in all delicacies. Being one of the common spice used in all the Indian curries, coriander provides a delicious taste to all the cuisines .

One of the easiest methods of sowing coriander seeds indoors is via sprouting method. Pre-soak the coriander seeds in a shallow dish overnight. Then place these seeds in a plastic sandwich bag and seal it. Place the bag in a spot receiving decent sunlight for a day or two until tiny white sprout appears. Add more water if needed to ensure that the bag retains moisture.

Note that dried coriander leaf isn't a good substitute for fresh. It loses much of its flavor when it's dried and incorporates into the dish quite differently. If you don't have any of the suggested fresh herbs on hand, just leave the cilantro out. Your recipe should still taste fine without it.

Many people use coriander in dishes like soups and salsas, as well as Indian, Middle Eastern, and Asian meals like curries and masalas. Coriander leaves are often used whole, whereas the seeds are used dried or ground. To prevent confusion, this article refers to the specific parts of the Coriandrum sativum plant.

Coriander is native to regions from southern Europe and North Africa to southwestern Asia. It is one of the oldest herbs and spices recorded in history. The plant has mentions in the Bible, while seeds have been discovered in ruins from the Bronze age.
